Plan information
Pre-existing known identity theft is not covered. A pre-existing incident means that prior to the time you enroll in a plan, 1) you are aware that your personal information has been accessed by an unauthorized person or entity and 2) they have used or attempted to use your personal information for their financial gain.
Up to 10 eligible family members are automatically included in your family plan. If a family member suspects they are a victim of identity fraud, call us at 855-730-3366 with them present.
The family plan can protect anyone living with or financially dependent on you, like your spouse and children. You can also cover your parents, in-laws, and grandparents aged 65+, regardless of whether they live with, or are financially dependent, on you.
Allstate identity restoration is available to those who have a Social Security number and reside in the U.S.
Identity theft is when a criminal steals someone's personal information, for example credit cards or a Social Security number. Identity fraud is using that stolen information for opening accounts, taking out loans, etc.
Scams are a type of fraud where a criminal tricks a victim into giving the scammer money or personally identifiable information (PII) for goods or services that are phony, nonexistent or never provided. Scammers may even promise you investment returns if you provide them money or access to your accounts.
If you willingly transfer money to a scammer, even under false pretenses, it is not considered identity fraud or theft. It is an identity scam, and most companies will not reimburse you for this kind of loss.
If money is given willingly through identity scams, the expense reimbursement features of your plan would not apply. However, if your information was exposed in a scam and then later escalated to identity fraud, we will always help you resolve your identity case. We will help guide you through the steps to prevent potential future fraud related to the scam.
Allstate identity restoration plans are sold by Allstate, and serviced by Allstate Identity Protection, the marketing name of InfoArmor, Inc., an Allstate subsidiary.
There are two key differences in the protection offered between identity restoration and the identity theft expense coverage endorsement.
Family member coverage: Allstate customers with an identity theft expense coverage endorsement on their home, auto, condo, or renters policy, are limited to family member coverage for the named insured and spouse/registered domestic partner. Children and other residents of the household are not covered.
You can cover up to 10 family members plus the primary subscriber with an Allstate identity restoration plan. The family plan can protect anyone living with or financially dependent on you, like your spouse and children. This also includes parents, in-laws, and grandparents aged 65+, regardless of whether they live with or are financially dependent on you.
- Security Pro®: This is included with identity restoration, while the identity theft expense coverage endorsement does not include Security Pro alerts. These are geo-targeted email alerts that help protect you and your family from scams and identity threats.
You can switch plan types at any time. However, you will need to cancel your existing plan and re-enroll in the new one at the end of your current billing cycle.
Please note, if you cancel your plan after you made your current month’s payment, you will still have your original plan's coverage for the rest of that billing period.
Unauthorized use of your information is known as identity fraud. For identity fraud, a criminal must steal your personal information and use that information to gain unauthorized access to your accounts or open new accounts in your name.
