Does my homeowners policy cover my snowmobile?

A homeowner policy does not cover your snowmobile. If you're using your snowmobile for recreation, you’ll need a separate snowmobile policy. A snowmobile is only covered as property under a homeowner policy if it’s used to service your residence's premises.

Do I need insurance for a rented snowmobile?

Some coverage under your existing snowmobile policy may extend to a snowmobile rental. For example, the liability coverage under your personal snowmobile policy may also help cover you if you cause an accident while on the rental.

If you wreck a rental snowmobile, your personal snowmobile collision or comprehensive coverage probably won't cover it.
