Limits & Deductibles

You've probably heard the terms, but what do they really mean? Here's a quick overview.

The highest amount Allstate will pay you for a claim

  • Example: If your limit is $100,000 and the crash damage costs $105,000, you'll pay $5,000

Often broken down by the max amount Allstate will pay per person and total

  • Example: With a limit of $50,000/$100,000, Allstate will pay $50,000 per person in the accident and $100,000 total

The amount you agree to pay out-of-pocket

  • Example: If your deductible is $500 and the crash damage costs $1,500, you'll pay $500 and Allstate will pay the remaining $1,000

Your limit and deductible levels affect your monthly premium, or the amount you pay to be covered. Contact an agent to get an idea of what could be right for you.
