What is Star Driver?
Star Driver is a free, easy-to-use smartphone app designed to encourage the conversation between parents and teens about safe driving and reward teens for their safe driving behavior. It collects trip information that parents can use to give feedback on their teens' driving, while helping give parents reassurance that their children are driving safely.
Who is eligible?
Star Driver is available countrywide, to Allstate customers, with drivers in their household ages 15-19. Customers must have an established profile in My Account to sign up and view data.
What type of phone is required?
A smartphone is required. The app supports iPhones with iOS 6 and above or Android devices with version 2.3 and above.
How does a customer sign up?
Customers can go to My Account on Allstate.com to enroll.
Customers can choose whether to receive an email or a text message confirming the enrollment, along with a unique activation code and instructions to download the Drivewise mobile app.
How do customers access the app?
Once the customer accepts the End User Agreement, they will receive an email with a link to download the app through iTunes for iPhones or Google Play for Android phones.
Does the driver need to interact with the phone for the app to work?
No. It's important to know that drivers do not have to interact with the app to start collecting their Star Driver information. We want every driver to be safe on the road. As long as the phone is on, adequately charged (at least 25 percent of battery power) and the app is running in the background, their driving is automatically being detected.
How will this app impact the phone battery?
The app impacts the battery similarly to other navigation apps. Battery usage is higher while a trip is in progress. If the phone's battery is charged to 25 percent or lower, the app will stop collecting driving data to preserve battery life.

What is the free smartphone charger offer?
Allstate is offering each driver who is signed up for the Star Driver program a complimentary universal smartphone charger and charging cord for their vehicle to help ensure the smartphone is charged enough for the Star Driver app to work.
How does a customer order the smartphone charger?
When a driver signs up for Star Driver, they will receive either an email or text message with a customized link that will take them to a page where they can order the smartphone charger. The driver simply enters their shipping information for Allstate to redeem the offer.
How soon after the order is placed will the charger arrive?
All chargers should arrive within 7 to 15 days from the date of the order.
