Enjoy a smooth move
Moving is a hectic time and the relocation to-do list can get lengthy. Allstate wants to make it easy for you to ensure your insurance policies are up-to-date so that you have one less thing to worry about.
When you're moving in state
If you're moving to a new place in the same state, you will need to notify Allstate about your new address. You can do so by logging in to My Account on your desktop or in the Allstate® mobile app. You will also need to discuss a new property policy with your Allstate agent.
For any property policies, including home, condo, renters or mobile home insurance, you will want to update the coverage on your policy to ensure any new features or changes with your new property are protected. Talk to your agent to help you make these policy adjustments.
When you're moving out of state
If your move is taking you out-of-state, there are a few more things you'll want to consider.
Moving out of state will require you to make coverage updates to any type of policy you may have with Allstate. Coverage requirements — especially auto, motorcycle and motorhome—vary from state to state, so you'll want to make sure your coverage is compliant with your new state's laws.
If you're keeping your current address, but purchasing an additional home or car out of state, you'll want to talk to your agent about the best way to insure both properties. Talk to your agent to have them help walk you through the transition.
Your agent is there to help
We want to help you stay protected, so you can focus on the stuff that really matters. No matter where you live or what your insurance needs are, there will always be an agent there to help you navigate the moving process.
