Have a flood policy purchased through Allstate? Get help and support throughout the flood claim process, from filing, to receiving your claim settlement.
File a flood insurance claim
If you purchased flood insurance through an Allstate agency, call 1-800-54-STORM to start your claim, or fill out a flood loss claim report online.
Use the flood loss claim report if:
- You have a policy through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
- You’ve experienced damage to your home due to a flood in your area.
We’re here to help you every step of the way.
Some items not covered through your flood policy may include:
- Wind damage
- Broken or frozen pipes
- Appliance leak
- Roof damage
These items may be covered by your homeowners policy, and you will need to file a separate claim for these types of water damages. Water damage to a vehicle should be filed as a separate auto claim. You can report a homeowner or auto claim on My Account.

When you file a flood insurance claim, these are the steps you’ll typically follow:
1.
File your claim
When you file, you’ll get a number to track your claim’s progress. You can contact your flood claim adjuster with any questions about the status of your claim.
2.
Initial adjuster contact
We’ll contact you to gather claim details and validate your policy. Your adjuster will reach out to schedule a damage inspection, answer questions, review steps to minimize the damage where possible, and go over what to expect next.
3.
Damage assessment
During the inspection, your adjuster will assess damage by taking measurements, photos, and notes on the damage from the flood. Extensive damage may require additional visits.
4.
Estimate review and approval
Based on the assessment, your adjuster will provide a detailed estimate of the flood damage and the NFIP will double check the estimate to make sure it matches the details of your policy.
5.
Proof of loss and claim settlement
You’ll receive a proof of loss document with a detailed estimate of repair costs that you’ll need to sign and return as soon as possible. Once your signed proof of loss is received, the U.S. Treasury will request your settlement check and send it via U.S. mail.
6.
Request for additional payment
After the initial settlement, if you find additional flood damage, you may submit a request for additional payment by emailing photos and a detailed estimate of damage to claims@claims.allstate.com. Please include your claim number in the subject line.
