What May Not Be Covered

Renters insurance protects a renter from accidental
and sudden covered losses. However, there are some
losses that aren't covered.

Dwelling and other structures.

Physical damage to structures is typically not
covered under your renters policy.* Check with your
landlord to make sure they carry the appropriate
coverage on the dwelling.

Floods, earthquakes and water backup.

Floods, earthquakes and water (sewer) backups
are excluded from many renters insurance policies.

*Unless it‘s a covered loss under Family Liability for property that you damaged.
