2010 SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT

Investors

Investors are the lifeblood of any public company. They provide the capital that lets us invest in our company and grow. Without them, Allstate doesn’t exist.

Investors are particularly important because their financial expectations establish our stock price. Experts in our investor relations department speak daily with investors about the company’s performance and plans. We hold quarterly meetings with financial professionals where Allstate’s CEO and other top officers discuss our results and answer questions. From time to time, senior executives also meet one-on-one with investment analysts. Our annual report details all aspects of Allstate’s income, expenses and results, with pertinent commentary.

Allstate has a strong commitment to sound corporate governance. To hear the opinions of the investment community and ensure clear understanding of Allstate's position on various issues, we discuss governance matters on an ongoing basis with certain investors. This engagement has enhanced the Board's stewardship of investor interests.
