Reporting Trends
As corporate social responsibility reporting continues to evolve and mature as a discipline—and becomes an expectation among corporate stakeholders—best practices and reporting conventions change. Not all of these are applicable to Allstate because several conventional indicators are not relevant given the nature of our business; however, the following trends may influence the form and substance of our reporting in future years:

For all companies, we expect increased compliance with Global Reporting Initiative (www.globalreporting.org) principles and the latest G3 guidelines.

We anticipate further external metrics, guidelines and frameworks to emerge and be adopted in corporate social responsibility reporting, helping audiences create more credible and consistent comparisons between industry peers.

Certain companies are beginning to develop far-term measurements of social responsibility, looking five years or further into the future to anticipate and react to new trends and impacts.
