Reasons We Report
Allstate considers social responsibility reporting to be a good business practice, as well as a way to demonstrate our values at work. The more clearly we identify our role and impact in our communities, the more we believe we’ll strengthen our reputation as a responsible corporate citizen. This is true whether the information and data appear favorable to Allstate or not. As an organization dedicated to reaching and protecting millions of consumers, what we stand for as an organization makes a difference. Through comprehensive reporting and open dialogue, we want to provide as many reasons as possible for consumers, shareholders and investors to believe in and choose Allstate.
Timeframe
This report covers the period between January 1, 2007, and December 31, 2007—and in certain areas includes updated 2008 information and data as available. In our attempt to continuously improve the quality and scope of our reporting, select metrics may not yet show a historical trend. For example, some data may exist for a three-year period while certain data may be a first-year metric that we intend to track going forward. “Allstate” refers to “The Allstate Corporation” and the operations of its subsidiaries within the United States, unless otherwise noted.
