Each Allstate commercial ends with the question,
"Are you in Good Hands®?"
Launched in November 2003, the “Our Stand” marketing
campaign positions Allstate as a consumer advocate and challenges
the insurance industry to raise its standard for customer service.
Too often, insurance has been seen as a commodity where all
companies, all policies are alike. As a result, purchase decisions
often have been made solely on price – even though surveys
show consumers think other factors like service, reputation
and relationships are important, too.
The “Our Stand” campaign is one way Allstate is
out to change the conversation.

| Good Governance
Is Our Foundation |
|
 |
Allstate works every day to earn the trust
of its customers, its agencies, its employees and its shareholders.
“You’re in Good Hands with Allstate®”
is more than a motto.
Allstate delivers on that promise by helping customers protect
their assets and plan for their futures. The company owes them
more than a product. It owes them an experience and a level
of professionalism that exceeds their expectations.
Similarly, Allstate strives to provide its investors more than
steady growth and solid returns. It owes them the kind of information
they need to make their own judgments. Disclosures and financial
statements must be timely and transparent. The board of directors
regularly reviews governance guidelines to ensure they continue
to meet the highest standards of ethical corporate practice.
Governance is ingrained in Allstate’s business practices
and instilled in its culture. In a business built on trust,
nothing less will do.

| Leadership Strength
Stands Out |
|
 |
A business like Allstate is only as good
as the people who work there. It starts at the leadership level,
where expertise is critical. The 12 members of Allstate’s
senior management team, for example, have more than 260 combined
years of tenure in insurance and financial services. Among Allstate
officers, more than half have been with the company an average
of 20 years.
But experience also must be balanced with new faces and fresh
perspectives. One of every six Allstate officers has been with
the company less than five years. Drawing on different backgrounds
as well as different ideas is another key. So, 27 percent of
officers are women and 12 percent are minorities.
The same commitment to excellence and diversity drives employment
and personnel policies throughout the company. Creating a supportive
work environment and ensuring opportunities for all help Allstate
and its employees tap the true potential within.
The results can be seen in the company’s financial performance
and in employee satisfaction surveys. Allstate also has been
recognized for leadership in the workplace by many independent
organizations and publications.
