Victory Motorcycles hands out two top-shelf models to military personnel
A Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps' 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines is the latest to receive a high-end motorcycle from Victory as part of the company's partnership with Operation Gratitude, according to Clutch and Chrome.
The lucky Marine found the keys to a 2011 Victory Vegas 8-Ball in a care package shipped to him by Operation Gratitude, along with the usual DVDs and letters of appreciation, Clutch and Chrome said. He'll receive the bike itself when his unit returns to Camp Pendleton.
Victory Motorcycles general manager Steve Menneto told the online motorcycle news source his company was lucky to be able to participate.
"The opportunity to partner with Operation Gratitude and donate one of our motorcycles to the organization's 600,000th care package means a lot to our company. We encourage everyone to continue finding ways to thank our troops for all they sacrifice in service to our country," Menneto said.
High-end motorcycles like the Vegas 8-Ball may require an expert rider well-versed in safe driving habits, experts say.
