Auto accessory manufacturer Thule picks best road trip cars
The difference between the right car and the wrong car for a road trip can make for a vastly different experience, as any seasoned road-tripping family can attest. To help others make what can be a difficult decision, the Thule company announced that two vehicles were its picks for the best road trip cars of the year.
In the below $30,000 category, Thule named the Hyundai Tucson limited as the top pick. Thule vice president of sales, marketing and service Tripp Wyckoff said that "when you sit in the Tucson you really feel part of the vehicle. The seats combine the right combination of support and comfort. The control dials are intuitively placed around the driver and keep their eyes up toward the road."
Meanwhile, the Volvo XC70 took the top prize in the over $30,000 category. Thule said that the Swedish-built car won because of its capability and well-rounded performance.
One thing that consumers should factor into the purchase of their new vehicle is that some will be more expensive to purchase auto insurance for than others, according to experts.
