Allstate New Jersey Insurance Company (Allstate New Jersey)
Congratulations on the wonderful work you are doing in your community. This year, given the serious economic environment, The Allstate Foundation at the regional level is primarily renewing support for existing partners and accepting applications for new relationships mainly in the areas of teen driving and economic empowerment for victims of domestic violence - the two social issues we are championing.Â
As you might imagine, we get many more requests for support than we can honor with the limited resources available. Thank you for considering us and I wish you the best as you continue your valuable work in the community.
Welcome to Allstate New Jersey, an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of Allstate Insurance Company. In 2006, we issued 37 Agency Hands In The Community Awards (AHIC) to non-profit organizations across the Garden State. Community volunteer efforts of Allstate New Jersey exclusive agents and financial specialists were recognized with $500 grants to support outstanding New Jersey-based organizations. Awards were granted to non-profits such as the Children's Cardiomyopathy Foundation, the American Cancer Society, U.S. Marines Toys for Tots Foundation, the Coalition Against Rape and Abuse of Cape May Court House, Westfield Jaycees and the Matheny Medical and Educational Center. Allstate New Jersey appreciates the contributions of all 2006 AHIC award grant recipients!
What Has Allstate Done in our Local Community?
-
Through The Allstate Foundation, we have provided contributions to exemplary community organizations like Junior Achievement of New Jersey, the New Jersey State Safety Council and the Boys and Girls Club of New Jersey.
-
This past year, Junior Achievement-NJ was the largest recipient of grant support from The Allstate Foundation. The New Jersey chapter of JA is providing the Foundation-sponsored "Economics For Success" curriculum to grade school youngsters. At the national level, as well as locally, the Foundation has supported JA since 200l.
-
The Allstate Foundation has partnered with non-profits throughout the state including Somerset County Coalition on Affordable Housing, Raritan, NJ; Communities In Schools of New Jersey, Inc., Urban League of Union County, and Childrens' Specialized Hospital, Mountainside, NJ.
-
For the fourth consecutive year, Allstate New Jersey is sponsoring the statewide Black History Month Young Writers' Contest in celebration of Black History Month.
How About Local Volunteerism Efforts?
-
Led by president William P. Ballinger, Allstate New Jersey employees regularly participate in Habitat for Humanity initiatives, the program founded by former President Jimmy Carter designed to provide needy families with affordable housing.
-
Allstaters annually participate in the March of Dimes walk. Thousands of dollars are raised and donated to research on the prevention of birth defects.
-
During the holiday season, many Allstaters volunteer at local shelters, special schools and assisted living centers. In conjunction with the U.S. Marines Foundation's Toys for Tots program, a number of Exclusive Agents and Exclusive Financial Specialists formed an initiative to purchase bicycles for needy children. The program has grown and in 2005 over 150 bicycles were donated along with bike safety helmets. The efforts of Allstate contributors were greatly appreciated by the Marine organizers and over a hundred needy children.
