Environment

Many factors must work together to help protect the natural resources of our world and the assets of our communities. At Allstate we have established policies and programs to reduce the direct impact of our operations on the environment and to promote the safety and health of our employees.

Our Mission

Allstate is committed to conducting business in a sensible way that protects and preserves the natural environment and to supporting solutions that address the impact of environmental issues, including climate change, throughout our value chain – from our suppliers to our customers, employees, agency owners, business partners, investors and the public.

Our Approach

Allstate believes that environmental responsibility is a key part of being a good corporate citizen.  In that role, we have established programs that promote the safety and health of our employees and customers, and reduce the impact of our operations on the environment. In addition, we promote sound public policies which respond to a changing environment.

We recognize the prevailing scientific view that the world is getting warmer, and that this trend is linked to emissions of greenhouse gases caused by human activity. We also recognize that the challenge of preparing and protecting America from extreme weather events is too large to be addressed by any one company. We believe this work requires collaboration between all sectors of society, including local, state and federal governments, consumers, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector.

We are dedicated to regularly examining Allstate's impact on the environment throughout our value chain and taking responsible action to improve upon our environmental management. To that end, we disclose our company-wide carbon footprint on an annual basis.
