Gospel Music Heritage Month
Gospel music holds a special place in the American landscape, especially in the African-American community. Its modern beginnings can be traced to Thomas Dorsey, the man who has been recognized as its founder. But its true roots lie deep in the historic struggle of the black community.

In recognition of this uniquely American art form, Congress recently designated September 2008 as Gospel Music Heritage Month, which honors gospel music for its valuable and longstanding contributions to the culture of the United States.

Allstate Gospel Superfest
Allstate is a proud sponsor of the Gospel Superfest, a series of televised gospel concerts sure to uplift with its message of faith and hope. This year's Superfest taping will be held at the Atlanta Civic Center on Saturday November 1st, 2008 in Atlanta, GA.

The Allstate® Gospel Superfest will travel to six US cities this September for The Allstate® Gospel Superfest Opening Act Contest. The grand prize winner will be the opener for this year's 10th Allstate Gospel Superfest International TV taping to be held on Saturday November 1st, 2008 in Atlanta, GA.
