Beyond February
The Shortest Month Just Got The Longest Commitment
We understand that supporting the African-American community for the expected 28 days in February is not enough. So Beyond February is our every day, all year commitment to create, support and sponsor programs that empower the community well beyond the month of February.
Launched October 2007, Beyond February is not our first foray into supporting the African-American community, but rather the unification of all of our programs under one single voice. This voice aligns our programs and activities with the core values of the community – creating six pillars, which serve as the basis of everything we do.
These pillars: Community, Education, Economic Empowerment, Spirituality, Family and Achievement allow us to truly make an impact on the community.
From the support of Historically Black Colleges and Universities and helping in the rebuilding of Gulf Coast communities, to our signature programs like Teen Safe Driver and commitment to Black Greek organizations, our goal is to affect change at a local level, every day. Because when February ends, community support shouldn’t. That’s Allstate Stand.
Beyond February Community Pillars
Economic Empowerment
The buying power of the African-American community is valued at over $700 billion dollars. Allstate understands that keeping this money in the community and finding your own financial freedom is vital.
Spirituality
African-American spirituality runs deep. We recognize that fueling one’s soul is critical for personal growth and we support programs and initiatives to help make this happen.
Community
One generation plants the trees; another enjoys the shade. It is this sense of community that guides us to make a difference in African-American communities by supporting local programs across the nation.
Education
Since the first African-American institutions of higher learning opened its doors in 1854, more and more African-Americans are completing college, and it’s important to keep this momentum. Historically Black Colleges and Universities ensure that the future leaders grow and develop.
Family
Whether immediate or extended, family is the backbone of the African-American community. We understand this fact and celebrate the wisdom and triumphs that African-American families represent.
Achievement
The accomplishments of the African-American community have helped shaped this nation. We sponsor events and programs that help create, support and acknowledge the next generation of trailblazers.
