As part of our partnership, many of our Allstate agents and employees volunteer to teach the Junior Achievement classes at local schools.
In Bothell, Wash., Allstate has adopted two local junior highs to teach Junior Achievement to 7th graders.
Every spring, more than 25 Allstate agents take over Greenacres Elementary School in Spokane, Wash. to teach the entire JA curriculum to more than 500 students in just one day.
In Portland, Oregon, a number of Allstate agents and employees taught the pilot of the new middle grade curriculum sponsored by The Allstate Foundation called Economics for Success.
Since 2003, Allstate has participated in JA of Washington’s Bowling Classic, the organization’s largest annual fundraiser. Allstate alone has raised over $25,000 for JA of Washington through this event. Since 2004, Allstate has been a major sponsor of the Bowling Classic.
The Allstate Foundation has partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of the Columbia Basin in Moses Lake, Wash., to provide the Money Matters program to its members. The program educates teens to be more financially literate, teaching important skills such as balancing a checkbook, creating a budget and investing for college and retirement.
Tolerance, Inclusion and Diversity
Allstate has partnered with the Organization of Chinese Americans-Greater Seattle Chapter (OCA-GS) for the past several years on a number of projects that promote tolerance, inclusion and diversity.
Allstate and OCA-GS co-sponsored a play called The First Day performed by youngsters from a Seattle-area elementary school based on Brown vs. Board of Education.
Allstate sponsors the OCA-GS’ Golden Circle Awards & Lunar New Year Celebration, which honors three individuals each year for their long-term contributions to the Chinese and Asian Pacific American community.
