A deadly ice storm and heavy rains swept across the Pacific Northwest states of Washington, Oregon and Idaho beginning Tuesday January 17 and continuing into January 21, 2012. The storm lead to flooding and evacuations in Oregon and heightened the misery of residents in Washington State struggling with power outages and treacherous roads caused by record snowfall. The storm also consisted of powerful winds that resulted in downed trees and tree limbs on to homes and vehicles. Heavy snow in the Idaho counties of Elmore, Boise, Ada, Camas, Idaho, Valley, Custer and Clearwater has also resulted in property damages such as damages due to weight of snow and water leaks.
