Northeastern U.S. gets hammered with another round of winter storms
3/01/10 5:00 PM

Another round of winter storms swept through Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts February 25 through February 28, 2010. Currently, claims are concentrated in the New Hampshire counties of Rockingham and Hillsborough. Frigid temperatures have caused widespread freeze damages that include frozen and broken pipes and water damages. Additionally, ice encrusted trees and tree limbs have fallen on to roofs, decks and fences resulting in both structural and surface damages including partial collapse to homes and buildings. The heavy, wet snow piled up on roadways, toppled trees and left thousands without electricity. Reportedly thousands of residents across the region have lost electricity and more outages are expected to be reported because of downed power lines.
