Powerful Storm System Impacts Northeast

A spring storm system that has impacted most of the South from Texas through North Carolina arrived in the Northeast Friday, March 12, 2010 impacting the states of Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts through Sunday, March 14, 2010. The region received up to 6" of rain and was pummeled by 40 to 50 MPH winds and wind gusts of up to 70 MPH, including straight-line winds. The upper Mid-Atlantic and North Atlantic coastal areas were hardest hit. The storm system downed trees and tree limbs on to homes, fences, decks and power lines (resulting in power outages) and the strong winds blew debris onto homes and vehicles. Additionally, there have been some reports of hail in some locations. The resulting damages include, but are not limited to, losses to roofs, siding, fascia, decks, fencing, rain gutters and downspouts, awnings and patio covers, interior walls and vehicle sheet metal.

Northeastern U.S. gets hammered with another round of winter storms

Another round of winter storms swept through Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts February 25 through February 28, 2010. Currently, claims are concentrated in the New Hampshire counties of Rockingham and Hillsborough. Frigid temperatures have caused widespread freeze damages that include frozen and broken pipes and water damages. Additionally, ice encrusted trees and tree limbs have fallen on to roofs, decks and fences resulting in both structural and surface damages including partial collapse to homes and buildings. The heavy, wet snow piled up on roadways, toppled trees and left thousands without electricity. Reportedly thousands of residents across the region have lost electricity and more outages are expected to be reported because of downed power lines.

Blizzard pummels Northeast States

A blizzard battered the Northeast States from February 5 through February 12, 2010, dumping as much as 3 feet of snow. The frigid temperatures have caused widespread freeze damages that include frozen and broken pipes and water damages. Additionally, ice encrusted trees and tree limbs have fallen on to roofs, decks and fences resulting in both structural and surface damages including partial collapse to homes and buildings. The heavy, wet snow piled up on roadways, toppled trees and left thousands without electricity. Reportedly thousands of residents across the region have lost electricity and more outages are expected to be reported because of downed power lines. Damages are being reported from across the region but are predominantly concentrated in the Pennsylvania counties of Allegheny, Philadelphia, Washington and Delaware, specifically the cities of Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.

Northeastern US hit with strong storm system

A storm front consisting of strong winds moved across the Northeastern U.S. on January 24 and January 25, 2010. Currently, claims are concentrated in the Pennsylvania counties of York, Philadelphia, Delaware and Montgomery specifically the cities of York, Philadelphia. Properties throughout these states were damaged by high winds, blowing debris, downed trees/tree limbs, as well as roof leaks and sewer back up.  

Strong Winds Sweep Pennsylvania

A storm consisting of extremely strong winds swept through Pennsylvania Tuesday, December 8 through 10. The winds damaged structures, and roofing and siding materials, as well as downing trees and tree limbs on to buildings and power lines resulting in structural roof damages and power outages. The counties most heavily impacted are as follows: Erie, Mercer, Butler, Allegheny, Washington, Fayette, Westmoreland, Montgomery, Delaware and Philadelphia.
