A storm system consisting of hail, heavy rains, winds and lightning hit the Northeast US from August 10 to August 12, 2008. This storm caused minor to moderate wind and hail damage to homes and automobiles with a majority of the damage being from hail. These storms mainly impacted East and Southeast Pennsylvania in the counties of Lehigh, Franklin, York, Delaware and Chester. In New York, the areas primarily impacted were the counties of Erie, Nassau, Rensselaer and Queens. This storm system also caused scattered hail, wind and rain damages in the states of Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New Hampshire where trees and tree limbs were downed on to homes, fence and decks; losses range from minor to moderate.
