A massive storm system consisting primarily of volatile winds and large damaging hail stretched across Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska and South Dakota August 18 and 19, 2011. The event resulted in damages to roofs, siding, decks, fences, glass and vehicles from downed trees and tree limbs, as well as hail. The areas of concentrated damages are as follows: Iowa counties of Pottawattamie, Mills and Fremont; Kansas counties of Shawnee, Jefferson and Johnson; Nebraska counties of Douglas and Washington; with minimal damages were reported in Missouri and South Dakota.
A volatile storm system packing strong winds swept across Colorado, Iowa and Nebraska July 10 and 11, 2011. The storm consisted of fierce wind gusts, heavy rainfall and some lightning strikes primarily resulting in roofing and water damages to homes. The strong winds downed trees and tree limbs on to homes, fences, decks damaging materials and breaking glass. Some reports of lightning strikes and power outages were also received. The predominant counties impacted by this storm front are as follows: Iowa – Benton, Linn, Marshall, Story, Clinton, Scott, Tama, Boone, Dubuque, Delaware, Polk, Poweshiek and Cedar; Nebraska - Douglas, Hall, Buffalo and Hamilton; Colorado – Adams, Pueblo, Arapahoe, Denver, Larimer, Jefferson, El Paso, Mesa and Boulder.
