A volatile storm system swept across Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Kentucky, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri May 1 through 3, 2008 resulting in scattered widespread damages ranging from minor to moderate with a few substantial losses. The storm system consisted of winds to 85 MPH, tornadic activity, large damaging hail and heavy rains. The storm knocked power out to thousands in Kansas City and tornado damages have been reported primarily in the northeast portion of the city and in Lawrence. The counties of Clay, Platte and Jackson were the most impacted by these storms. A
