A strong storm system trekking northeastward across Minnesota, Illinois and Wisconsin impacted residents in all three states with its high winds, plunging temperatures and heavy rains and snow April 10 through 12. In the northern Minnesota city of Duluth the winds snapped trees and downed power lines resulting in utility interruptions to over 11,000 customers. Consequently, claims notices are primarily indicating minor to moderate damages to roofs, siding, fences and decks, as well as water losses due to damaged roofing and sewer back-up.
