West Central US slammed with another storm system

Another storm system swept across the West Central U.S. June 14 through June 16 consisting of hail, high winds and lightning. The National Weather Service had not yet confirmed reports of tornadoes, but at least two were spotted in Colorado. Damages consist of losses to glass, roofs, fences, decking, air conditioning units and vehicle sheet metal and range from minor to moderate. Most of the claims reported to date are property claims and are concentrated in the Colorado counties of Jefferson and Adams specifically the cities of Arvada, Denver and Westminster. In Kansas, Johnson and Wabaunsee County were the most impacted specifically the city of Alta Vista.
Funnel clouds, hail, lightning, and heavy rain

A severe storm system consisting of funnel clouds, hail, lighting and heavy rain seemed to stall over Kansas, Missouri and Colorado June 11 and 12 primarily impacting the Colorado counties of Arapahoe, Douglas and Adams. Hail of up to 2.5 inches was reported in Larimer and Prowers Counties and wind gusts of to 64 MPH were reported in Otero County, closely followed by 58 MPH winds reported in Mesa County. Property and vehicle damages reported in conjunction with this storm system include losses to roofs, siding, decks, fences, glass and sheet metal. As a result of this weather system, the National Catastrophe Team (NCT) has declared a catastrophe in Colorado, Kansas and Missouri in the West Central Region.

A storm system moved across the West Central U.S. May 7 through 9 consisting of high winds and lightning. Strong winds blew shingles off roofs and downed trees and tree limbs onto homes, fences, decks and power lines, which caused power outages in some areas. The National Weather Service had not yet determined if reports of tornadoes were accurate, but several areas reported winds of 80 mph and higher in Southern Missouri. Most of the claims reported to date are property claims and are concentrated in the Missouri counties of Jasper and Greene specifically the cities of Joplin, Carl Junction, Springfield and Willard. In Kansas, Cherokee County is the most impacted specifically the city of Columbus.
