The Allstate Investment Group manages the portfolios for three major clients for Allstate to meet their investment objectives. They include:

• Property and Liability
  Managed on a total return basis and measured against published benchmarks.
• Allstate Financial (Life Company)
  Managed to maximize incremental yield spread and minimize defaults.
• Pension Plan
  Managed on a total return basis and measured against published benchmarks.

How Do We Manage Our Business on a Daily Basis?

Our business model provides the foundation for daily decision-making and portfolio management. It's useful to think of the Allstate Investment Group as a collection of business services. This group delivers three fundamental services to clients:

• Portfolio Management
• Strategy and Allocation
• Risk Management

In addition, our Investment Support Functions, such as Systems, Accounting and Financial Planning and Analysis, act as an enabler for fundamental services, enhancing performance on a daily basis. This business model provides a strategic and macro level view of how the Allstate Investment Group adds value for customers.
