Young Driver Accidents

What If Your Teen Has An Accident With A Learner's Permit?

The learner's permit is designed to help your teen learn to drive, and sometimes, that includes learning from mistakes. If your teen has an accident, the consequences are typically no different than when a fully licensed driver has an accident.

60 Typically, a licensed, insured driver must accompany a teen driver with a learner's permit. If teen drivers with learner's permits are caught driving alone, or without a licensed driver, the law may prevent them from driving alone for months or even years.

Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) laws and learner's permits help teens get the experience they need. Teach your teen to be safe and follow the law
