Little Bit of History

The state of New Mexico encompasses 121,665 square miles and is ranked 5th in the nation's total area. It was the 47th state to enter the union on January 6, 1912. New Mexico was named by 6th century Spanish explorers who hoped to find gold and wealth equal to that of Mexico's Aztec treasures.
