Little Bit of History

The state of Idaho encompasses 83,642 square miles and is ranked 14th in the nation's total area. It was the 43rd state to enter the union on July 3, 1890. Idaho is thought to be named by George M. Willing who suggested the name Idaho, which he claimed was derived from a Shoshone language term meaning the sun comes from the mountains or gem of the mountains.
