Little Bit of History

The state of Hawaii encompasses 10,931 square miles and is ranked 43rd in the nation's total area. It was the 50th state to enter the union on August 21, 1959. Hawaii is named after the island of Hawaii, the largest of the islands in the chain. The exact origin of the name is unknown.
