Little Bit of History

The state of Florida encompasses 65,795 square miles and is ranked twenty-second in the nation's total area. It was the 27th state to enter the union on March 3, 1845. Florida was named by Juan Ponce de León, a Spanish conquistador who accompanied Christopher Columbus on his second journey to the New World.
