Little Bit of History

The state of Arizona encompasses 113,998 square miles and is ranked 6th in the nation's total area. It was the 48th state to enter the union on February 14, 1912. The origin of the name Arizona is debated, so the Spanish phrase arida zona meaning dry region or the Basque phrase aritz onak meaning good oaks or the O'odham ali sonak meaning small spring are all possibilities.
