Be A Saint Day 2013

On Friday 15 March, over 350 business volunteers from 31 companies from a wide range of sectors across Northern Ireland took up tools at 28 community and voluntary groups to help them complete practical tasks to improve their premises as part of Business in the Community's and Volunteer Now's 'Be A Saint' volunteering day.

They were following in the footsteps of St Patrick and dedicating time for the benefit of others in this joint initiative organised by Business in the Community and Volunteer Now and Allstate NI volunteers were out in 2 locations helping local charities and communities. The Belfast office volunteers (pictured) helped out at The Wave Trauma Centre- a grass roots, cross community charity offering care and support to people bereaved, injured or traumatized as a result of 'The Troubles' in Northern Ireland. Northland volunteers helped out at Creggan Country Park, an outdoors activity centre and forestry park. Both groups helped out with environmental activities such as raking leaves, planting new trees and generally tidying up areas that need a little TLC. Thank you to all the volunteers for participating and dedicating your time to such a worthy cause.
