Over 450 people attended the event held at the iconic Titanic venue in Belfast. Hosted by award-winning BBC journalist Karen Patterson, the awards were supported by seven key business partners in Tughans, Liberty IT, Investors in People, Tesco, Kingsbridge Private Hospital, PowerNI and Titanic Belfast, and were endorsed by industry bodies the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) and the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD).

Allstate NI was selected as the winner after the judges reviewed the nominated companies which showed 'a planned approach to implementing work-life balance, health and wellbeing practices and can demonstrate exemplary initiatives to enable the workforce to continue to deliver results'.

Health and Wellbeing is imperative at Allstate NI, not only to ensure the health of employees, but also to contribute positively to productivity, quality, work motivation, job satisfaction and thereby to the overall quality of life for employees.

Allstate Northern Ireland recognise the potential impact that the accelerating pace of modern life, demands of working parenthood, increased responsibilities outside of work and growing financial pressures associated with global recession could have on the physical and mental wellbeing of its staff. Through EFL, the company is making a 1 ½ day investment in every employee to enable them to focus on themselves and develop techniques to better align their energy investment with what is really important in their lives. With many employees reporting having made substantial life changes as a result of the program, EFL has by far had the most powerful impact of any health, wellbeing or training intervention in ANI's illustrious history.
