Quantitative Research & Analytics (QR&A) is a key business area within Allstate Northern Ireland

The QR&A team works to solve business problems related to the Property & Casualty insurance market. These problems require the use of predictive models. The models predict a wide range of different outcomes that help the Allstate leadership team make informed decisions such as how much to charge a customer for their home insurance or what is the likelihood of a customer renewing their car insurance next year.

"Obviously the internship in Chicago is a big selling point but the main thing that appealed to me was the type of work that would be involved. While it seems every graduate recruiter is looking for problem solving, I think it can be difficult to find a role that really relies on these skills. Here the work is interesting, challenging and everyday is a learning process. Many of the senior staff are real experts in their field so there are great opportunities to learn. The role can involve aspects of economics, statistics and computer programming, not to mention the finer details of car and home insurance which is really much more interesting than it sounds.
