Who We Are
The Allstate Corporation is the largest publicly held personal lines property and casualty insurer in America. Allstate was founded in 1931 and became a publicly traded company in 1993. We are listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the trading symbol ALL. Allstate is widely known through the "You're In Good Hands With Allstate ®" slogan. As of year-end 2011, Allstate had $125.6 billion in total assets. In 2011, Allstate was number 93 on the Fortune 500 list of largest companies in America.
Our People
The Allstate Corporation encompasses more than 70,000 professionals made up of employees, agency owners and staff. Among Allstate's employees, nearly 60 percent are women, and more than 30 percent are minorities. Our Products
Consumers access Allstate insurance products (auto, home, life and retirement) and services through Allstate agencies, independent agencies and Allstate exclusive financial representatives, as well as via www.allstate.com and 1-800 Allstate®. At year-end 2011, Allstate had nearly 12,000 exclusive Allstate agencies and financial representatives in the United States and Canada. The company markets private passenger auto and homeowners insurance under the Allstate and Encompass® and Esurance® brand names. Esurance, an Allstate company, provides Esurance brand auto insurance products directly to consumers online, through call centers and through select agents, including Answer Financial.
Our Commitment to Communities
As part of Allstate's commitment to strengthen local communities, The Allstate Foundation, Allstate employees, agency owners and the corporation provided $28 million in 2011 to thousands of nonprofit organizations and important causes across the United States. The Allstate Foundation's emphasis includes teen safe driving and economic empowerment of domestic violence survivors.
